Take A Stand

Take A Stand is aimed at high school students ages 14-18 and encourages teens

  • not to drink and drive,
  • not to ride with a drinking driver, and
  • to stop someone from driving who has been drinking.

Classroom presentations can be arranged upon request. A typical Take A Stand presentation includes The Truth About Drinking video, a brief presentation on Kansas laws with handouts and a demonstration with the Fatal Vision Goggles that simulate visual impairment at the .08 BAC level.

Request your very own copy of Take A Stand PowerPoint presentation on CD-Rom for use in your community. Free copies are available by calling toll free 1-877-416-2522 or by sending an email to ktsro@dccca.org. Videos and goggles may be loaned out to accompany your program.

The Take A Stand Program is being taught across Kansas. High schools receive special promotions/incentives five key times during the school year: back-to-school, Christmas holiday, Spring Break, prom/graduation, and summer vacation.

The Your Driving Record Is For Life brochure explains blood alcohol concentration (BAC) and how it affects your diving abilities. This piece also highlights the Zero Tolerance and Minor In Possession laws that apply to anyone under 21 and the penalties associated with these laws. Take A Stand poster series are also available.

The Take A Stand Tuxedo Pocket Cards are great to use at Prom time. Be sure to print these and give to your local tuxedo provided to include with each order.
